6 GORGEOUS MAXI DRESS STYLES I’LL BE WEARING ALL SUMMER LONG

.

Dresses are one of the things I look forward to most about summer. There’s something so freeing about not having to wear restrictive clothing like jeans all the time. Coupled with the bright colors and airy fabric that summer dresses are typically made of, it’s a win-win. Now, this post is specifically about maxi dresses but a lot of the styles can also be seen in a mini or midi form.

Here are some of my favorite maxi dress styles right now and where you can find them:

Floral dresses

Florals are not just for the girly fashionistas. They come in various colors and patterns that can suite feminine style or add some flair to an edgier look. I love floral dresses for brunches and typical summer days out like on picnics lunch dates. You can pair then with camel sandals or or mules for an elegant look.

Slip dresses

Although they can also be dressed down with trainers and layers with a t-shirt, slip dresses are a great solution for dinner dates or just fancier days out. They give a very subtle elegance and I’d suggest pairing with a sleek pony, dazzling earrings and strappy heels. And don’t forget that red lip if the color of your dress allows.

Statement sleeve dresses

Statement sleeves are probably the number one trend I’m loving right now. Balloon sleeves elevate an otherwise basic look and just add a bit of polish. Statement sleeves on maxi dresses can be overpowering sometimes so I’d let the dress be the star when styling these. Minimal accessories and bold makeup would be my go-to combo here.

Bold colored dresses

Yellows, reds, blues, need I say more? What is summer if not a chance to be loud and colorful with your clothes. Bonus tip: choose colors that compliment your skintone. One of my faves is mustard yellow, like the dress I’m wearing in this post. So stunning against my complexion if I do say so myself 😉

Sheer dresses

Sheer dresses are very interesting to me. I especially love that they are a brilliant for layering, adding dimension and a bit of intrigue to any look. Organza dresses and blouses also quite trendy right now as well so they’ll be easy to find in high street stores.

Dresses with buttons

Dresses with buttons are very earthy and casual. They are perfect for throwing together a casual look when running errands. Pair a cotton button dress with cute sandals or white trainers and dainty jewelry for a simple yet stylish look.
