Styling an outfit in the same color from head-to-toe can be intimidating but when done right, it is the perfect way to stand out this holiday season. Unsurprisingly, the fashion scene will be saturated with lots of jewel tones, sequins, rich hues, reds, and greens during this season of holiday parties and festive activities (not that I’m complaining ^.^). However, a monochrome look such as
The key to the perfect monochrome outfit is to add depth by playing with different textures. The knit fabric and slightly deeper shade of the sweater make the outfit more interesting. Additional details like the buttons of the wide-leg pants play up the look as well. And let’s not forget accessories! White mules are very trendy and always brighten up and add a bit of edgy sophistication to an ensemble. The brown patent handbag with the tufted detailing was actually bought from a thrift store a few years ago! It cost close to nothing but adds an effortless elegance to the right outfit!
I’d wear this outfit to a lunch date or maybe a day out at a Christmas market. One of the best things about this time of the year besides the amazing shopping deals and beautiful decorations, is the abundance of events that just overwhelm your social calendars and keep you entertained.
